CWW2022 is just around the corner!
In 2,5 weeks’ time CWW2022 will kick off! Hopefully, those of you who have registered are as eager as we are to see the conference started! We are very much aware of the grim situation in Ukraine. Also, Covid-19 is still claiming its toll in the world. We take both developments very seriously and hope that both situations will change rapidly for the best. We feel however that this should not prevent the CWW2022 from taking place as planned on April 4 - 8 in the Netherlands.
The scientific programme is now final and can be viewed on the CWW2022 website. With an expected attendance of more than 400 participants in person during the week as well as more than 100 participants online, we are confident that CWW2022 will become a fantastic event! In this newsletter we inform you how we help you to prepare for the conference and get you in the mood. It is still not too late to register to participate in person or online!
Local COVID-19 measures and travel restrictions
From March 23 all local Covid-19 restrictions will be lifted and travelers to the Netherlands entering from within the EU or the Schengen area will no longer require a test, proof of recovery or proof of vaccination. Non-EU nationals remain subject to an EU entry policy. Exemptions apply in several cases, however, such as for people traveling from ‘safe’ countries, people who are vaccinated or who have recovered from coronavirus, and people traveling for certain purposes. We recommend participants to check travel regulations applying in their country of residence.
CWW Network app and Book of Abstracts
Have you not yet registered or paid for the conference? People who participate in person can now install the CWW2022 Network app to see who else is attending, ask questions to other participants, pitch your poster or oral presentation or start networking. The Network app will also be used before and during the conference to interact with the audience and keep everyone updated on changes in the conference programme. Start the CWW already today!
Both in person and online participants receive a PDF of the Book of Abstracts after payment of their registration costs. A great way to prepare for the conference by reading through the abstracts of 64 oral and 54 poster presentations.
Registration for excursions and workshops
On Tuesday 5 April and Thursday 7 April, you can participate in several workshops (in person only) running parallel to the main programme. Early arrivers can already participate in a pre-conference GenEst workshop on Monday afternoon 4 April. On Wednesday 6 April we offer four excursions to showcase wildlife-friendly developments and research in Dutch offshore and onshore wind farms. Registration for these workshops and excursions has been opened for registered participants. There are limited places for each, don’t be too late! We also ask participants to register for the five special sessions in the main programme and social side events, which will help us to get these organized in a safe way.
Online platform
For online streaming we have hired a professional camera crew to record all sessions. This promises to give you a great digital experience of the CWW2022! A few days before the conference we will provide online participants with their personal code to log in. They can follow live streams of all oral presentations, including the plenary sessions and special sessions (but not the workshops), and ask questions in a chat function. Finally, these streams will become available to the online participants to look back at their own convenience.
Hotel bookings and conference dinner
There are still a few rooms left with special rates in the conference venue Hotel Zuiderduin. To book your room, please follow this link. Also, seats for the conference diner are rapidly being booked. There are still about 50 places left, so don’t wait till the day you arrive at the venue to book a seat!
