Join Health Promotion and Recreational Sports for this two week mini-course that prepares participants for better self care. In the two week period, instructors will discuss basic nutrition, sleep, physical activity, and social connection as a means to better health and well-being. Participants will learn how to incorporate habits into their daily life and be challenged to record their progress to ensure they are on their way to lasting behavior change that will truly make a difference. Each mini-course session will be led via Zoom. Link provided via email following registration.
 

Alcohol and Other Drugs 101

Do carbs soak up alcohol? Is White Claw a standard drink? I don’t drink - what fun activities are there to do in Athens? Does drinking mask stress? Can you experience paranoia with cannabis? What do I do if someone experiences a substance related medical emergency? The presentation will address all these questions and more.

Tea Well Workshop

Tea Time! Join the Health Promotion Department to learn about tea, common varieties of tea, how to make the perfect cup of tea, and how tea can support well-being, such as aiding in relaxation, immune system support, energy, sleep, and more. The first 25 registrants for each workshop will have a chance to get free blended tea.

Participants will be introduced to strategies to safely identify and help a peer in need, discuss realistic and interactive skill building scenarios that cover a wide variety of well-being topics including mental well-being, interpersonal violence prevention, and substance misuse prevention, and raise awareness about resources available in the UGA community. Choose to care and contribute to positive experiences, culture, and future of the UGA community.

Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) 

The University of Georgia offers a Collegiate Recovery Community for students who have made a commitment to lead sober, healthy lives. The Collegiate Recovery Community provides an environment where students recovering from addiction can find peer support as well as other recovery support services while navigating their own college experience.

RSVP Drop-in Hours

Every Weekday
9:00 - 11:00 am
The Relationship and Sexual Violence Prevention and Advocacy Office (RSVP) at the University Health Center offers free and confidential support to any student who has been impacted by interpersonal violence including sexual assault, dating violence or stalking. Advocates can be reached 24/7 by calling the hotline, 706-542-SAFE (7233) or via virtual hours.
