BCC01 - Liturgy The Mass

TIME: 7.30 pm - 10.00pm (Registration from 7.15pm)

COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this basic course, catechists will gain a deeper understanding of the importance of liturgical worship in our lives as Christian disciples as well as how liturgy celebrates both the paschal mystery of God and our relationship with Him.
 

The module cover the following topics

  1. Intro to the Eucharist          
  2. Semitic Roots of the Eucharist
  3. Memorial: Christ’s Action Realising Semitic Hope
  4. Kerygma: Doxology of the Eucharist
  5. Parousia: The Lord’s Prayer & Being Sent Forth
COURSE PURPOSE
 The course seeks to help catechists appreciate rituals and symbols as expressions of the way the church enters into the mystery of Christ.

Notwithstanding the waiver of contribution fee, participants are required to register for all courses and events to assist us in the booking of appropriate rooms, the printing of materials and arrangement of tea and snacks, etc. In the event of foreseeable no-shows, we encourage participants to inform the office in advance to help prevent wastage of resources

Liturgy: The Mass is one of seven modules for the Basic Catechesis Course (BCC), the recommended basic requirements for all catechists, including Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS), home-based and special needs catechists.

The other modules are
  • Liturgy: The Mass
  • Scripture
  • Evangelisation and Mission Workshop
  • Introduction to Morality 
  • * Human Sexuality
  • *Catholic Social Teachings
  • In addition, catechists are required to attend a Retreat to complete their BCC requirements
* Introduction to Morality is a pre-requisite for Human Sexuality and Catholic Social Teachings
