COURSE DESCRIPTION / PURPOSE
|
|
|
This course seeks to explore:
- the importance of the understanding of the various explanation and notes including the various rites (both minor and major rites) as covered in the RCIA rite book;
- the "distinct steps pertaining to the catechumenate for adults" (Catechism of the Catholic Church # 1232)
- the various thresholds, the stages of maturation as well as the catechetical approach unique to the four continuous periods of RCIA; and
- the liturgical rites that mark the intense moment of initiation.
- and the 3 approaches, namely liturgical, catechetical and pastoral aspects of the RCIA as explained by the Association of Catechumenal Ministry (ACM)
