DHC Launches Cannabis Practice Group 
DHC recently announced the formation of a Cannabis Practice Group, which will help clients navigate the regulations around newly legalized adult recreational marijuana in New York State.
Led by practice chair Steve Malito, the group will work with cannabis retailers, growers, distributors, processors, and investors to guide them through the new regulations associated with the Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (MRTA).  
DHC Ranked Among New York City Top 50 Lobbyists in City & State

DHC's Government Relations Practice was featured in City & State's latest Top 50 NYC Lobbyists list, spotlighting the leading lobbyists making an impact in New York City in 2021. The list highlighted some of the firm's top accomplishments over the past year, including ensuring the safe reopening of amusement parks and attractions around the state in time for the summer season. 
Sid Davidoff Looks Forward at the Democratic Candidates for NYC Mayor 
DHC's Founding Partner, Sid Davidoff, authored a column for the New York Post in which he analyzed the performance of the top Democratic candidates for NYC Mayor in their first major debate. Davidoff noted that there were "no moments that blew anyone away. Probably the undecided needles won't move too much." Leslie Barbara Weighs in on Bill & Melinda Gates' Divorce 
DHC's Divorce and Family Law Practice Chair, Leslie Barbara, spoke to USA Today about the surprise divorce announcement from Bill and Melinda Gates after almost three decades of marriage. Looking at the couple's complex financial and business entanglements, and their acclaimed charitable foundation, Barbara said, "Don't get me wrong, this will be complicated. Issues of control, passing on the assets to the next generation will likely be at the forefront of negotiations."

Elliot Lutzker Counsels on the Closing of
Two IPOs

E-Home Household Service Holdings Limited, a household services company based in China, closed its initial public offering (IPO) of $25 million. DHC's Corporate Law Practice Chair Elliot H. Lutzker represented Joseph Stone Capital LLC as underwriter's counsel in connection with the IPO. The announcement of the IPO was featured in PR Newswire

Lutzker also represented DHC's client, Troika Media Group, Inc., a global marketing and communications services agency that provides advertising solutions for brands, in connection with its recent IPO of $24 million. The press release was featured in Globe Newswire
Sears Vendors Fight New Professional Fees as Bankruptcy Continues
DHC's Bankruptcy, Restructuring, and Creditor's Rights Practice Group Co-Chair David Wander spoke to Law360 about the latest developments in Sears' Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. "The amount of fees the professionals have already received is killing this case, and they want to take more money from the administrative creditor, who they haven't paid, so the professionals can get even more money," said Wander, who is counsel for numerous vendors of Sears and Kmart, including Orient Craft Ltd. 
New York Faces Redistricting After Narrow Census Loss 
DHC's Director of Strategic Planning, Keith Wright spoke to the Wall Street Journal about the preliminary U.S. Census results that saw New York's Congressional delegation decrease by one seat. "For New York to lose a congressional seat by 89 [people] just tells you how important it really is," said Wright, adding that the redistricting process "can become a knock-down, drag-out." 
Joshua Goldstein and Joshua Pergament Join DHC's Trusts & Estates Practice
Partner Joshua Goldstein and Associate Joshua Pergament have joined DHC's Trusts & Estates practice group. Joshua Goldstein's practice focuses on the preservation and transfer of family legacies through Estate Planning, Estate Administration, and Estate Litigation. He works with various clients, from individuals and young families at the start of their wealth-building journey, owners of closely-held businesses or complex assets, blended families or individuals with other special considerations, and multigenerational families encompassing a wide variety of interests and goals.

Home Healthcare Workers of America Endorse Candidates in Key NYC
Primary Races 

DHC's client, the 30,000-member Home Healthcare Workers of America, held a political endorsement event in Queens for several key NYC primary races, including for mayor and borough president. The labor organization turned to DHC's NYC Government Relations team to help provide guidance and counsel. This event was a great success and was covered by the New York Post and other media outlets.
