Dear volunteers of Serve the City Paris,

We are delighted to ring in 2021 by presenting our new, monthly STCP newsletter, called L’Engagé!

Over 3,000 volunteers are now signed up with STCP, even connecting back to the city those who have moved from Paris to live elsewhere internationally. L’Engagé is designed for you all.

We have heard your incredible stories of serving in the streets of Paris. We all know how transformational our programs and activities together can be. Now on a monthly basis, L’Engagé will offer wonderful stories about our beneficiaries and our volunteers, as well as STCP programs, activities, events, and pertinent information about what is happening in the streets of Paris.

I hope you enjoy our first newsletter of the year. Please subscribe here to receive the newsletter every month.

Happy New Year!
Tom & the STCP Leadership Team
L'ENGAGÉ
Every week, our volunteers participate in food distribution walks, language exchanges, sandwich-making, and workshops.
Food distributions meet at the Caféothèque, 52 rue Hôtel de Ville, Tuesdays and Fridays at 9h30 and Saturdays at 10h. Come and join us!

Sidewalk Stories

To Serve a City: "In some instances, we get it wrong; on occasion, our kindnesses are maladroit. But the effort has an earnest beauty to it, and a desire for something better, for some practical, tiny, social change."

In the Shadow of Monuments: "These people sleep rough in the shadows of monuments. They live, invisible, beneath the gloire française. But it is their names I want to know; it is their lives I think are valuable. And it is their stories I cannot forget."

Corona on the Streets: "This is a crise sanitaire which has highlighted and aggravated existing social inequalities. As of October, 40% of SDFs in Île-de-France were infected by Covid-19."

about the SAVE program!

"It's not just about distributing food and essential items.
It’s about investing yourself and bringing the best of what you can do,
not only of your skills but of your soul."

Statistics: Did you know?
Value of the Month: WORTH
