Dear Friends,

On September 15, Ten Strands, with the University of California and California State University systems, held an important (re)launch event of Environmental and Climate Change Literacy Projects (ECCLPs).

A collaborative effort, it included students, educational leaders, Indigenous voices and communities engaged in discussions of climate action, acknowledging the urgency of the moment and working together on potential solutions. We are excited to share the details of this special gathering as we continue the work of creating a path forward to positive change. Read the full article here

Outdoor Learning Spotlight: Groundswell Coastal Ecology

Groundswell Coastal Ecology partners with community organizations to develop nature-based solutions to ecological problems and teach restorative habits. As a recipient of the 2022 Building Climate Resilient Parks Grant, it is launching its Monterey Bay Living Shorelines Program to identify and prioritize coastal sites appropriate for implementation of living shorelines. Share your own outdoor learning photos! You can tag us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or email us at info@tenstrands.org—with a short description to be touted in our newsletter. Let’s continue to champion outdoor learning experiences.
