There are many good things happening on campus this month and I encourage everyone to get involved. This weekend the Drama Club is performing Much Ado About Nothing and Hardrocker Esports is hosting the 4th annual Grubby Games in the King Center. Next week our Veterans Club is hosting its annual Chili Cook-Off and Veterans Day Salute. Later this month our India Club will host the ever popular Diwali Festival of Lights event on campus. On top of these events, students can find more than one hundred clubs on campus via Mines Link to stay engaged and have some fun.
A hearty congratulations to our football team for winning the game against Black Hills State this past weekend. Great work keeping the Homestake Trophy where it belongs!
I again want to thank our faculty, staff, and students for their quick and calm response to Friday evening’s incident involving a false bomb threat made to campus. Although no devices were found on campus grounds, an investigation into the origination of the threat is still ongoing. I encourage students to contact our counseling services if feelings of stress or anxiety become overwhelming. Faculty and staff also have access to free counseling through their health plans and can contact HR for more information.
