Big Idea High School Business Competition
Deadline: Oct 31, 2021
The Big Idea Business Competition in South Dakota is now open for entries. This competition, launched in 2007, was created through the collaborative efforts of many organizations to promote entrepreneurship, spur creative thinking, and encourage high school students to start a business. Students who enter have a chance to win a share of nearly $35,000 in cash and scholarships.

STEAM Café—Defining the Great Plains: Reinventing a Region Through Ideas and Stories

Dr. Bryce Tellmann, instructor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Mines, discusses how our regional ideas of the Great Plains have changed over the past two centuries, what those ideas mean for communities in the present, and how new regional ideas could help us meet the challenges of the future. South Dakota Mines, Hay Camp Brewing Company, and South Dakota Public Broadcasting have teamed up to create STEAM Café, which will be held at 6 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month at Hay Camp.
