Dear Modern Loss family,
We hope you are doing as much as possible during this period of enormous grief, uncertainty and -- let's be honest -- fear, to shut out the world and seek out a bit of summer healing, be it through a daily walk, a swim, or just breathing in the warm air and feeling the sun on your face. In our experience, nature never fails.
During a time in which wonderful news isn't exactly a thing, we are so grateful to share some wonderful news from our end: Our next book, THE MODERN LOSS HANDBOOK, is in the works and coming to you from Running Press Books in 2021! Written by ML cofounder Rebecca Soffer, this handbook will be an interactive guide to helping you move through and examine your loss while also building up your resilience.
This format will be quite different from our first book, Modern Loss: Candid Conversation About Grief. Beginners Welcome. And it will be much more than just a journal. This will be a guided workbook through loss (at any point in your experience) rooted within therapeutic practices. Our goal is to help you move toward not only acceptance but also adaptation to your new normal in ways that will encourage self-care and self-advocacy. In true ML form, we also promise you a heavy dose of warmth, wit, creativity, and even humor, along with wisdom and inspiration.
We are so excited to put this product into the world, as it's become crystal clear to us over the years that people don't just want to read about managing grief; they want an ongoing invitation to consider and respond to how they're managing it. Stay tuned for more information, including how you, our community, can weigh in on the book process.
