Design Spectrum, a new initiative by Hong Kong Design Centre (HKDC) to foster a good design culture in the community, will stage its grand opening on 19 July 2019. Located in a revitalised cluster of Grade 2 historic buildings at 7 Mallory Street, Wan Chai, Design Spectrum features year-round exhibitions, exchanges, design appreciation and other promotion programmes to cultivate a creative atmosphere, while nurturing local creative capital.
You are invited to our debut exhibition “MATERIAL MODERNITY: INCREDIBLE BAMBOO, PAPER & WOOD”, which leads visitors into the visual culture and language of Asian design through material innovation. Featuring 90 projects spanning different cities and cultures, the exhibition gives design lovers a great opportunity to appreciate how designers stay true to their ethnic identities and cultural distinctiveness through their work. A programme of events such as workshops and design sharing will accompany the exhibition, so don’t miss the chance to meet the designers and get hands-on experience in design!
Stay tuned to our website to learn more about the exhibition and other upcoming activities.
