What is Exploration Friday?
Exploration Friday is a unique program offered at Echo Canyon School (ECS). Exploration Friday enriches the academic atmosphere for our students by exposing them to a variety of workshops that offer hands-on learning opportunities about new and fun topics. Workshops are facilitated by volunteer parents, teachers, and community members. Some workshops offered in the past have included topics ranging from yoga, sports skills, mindfulness, taiko drumming, beekeeping, wood working, and gardening - to cooking, calligraphy, public speaking, leadership, puppeteering, intro to high school, and career exploration, just to name a handful of examples... the topics are diverse and vary each time. We ask volunteers to tap into their special skills, talents, and interests that they would like to share with our students. Exploration Friday did not take place last year due to the COVID-19 public health emergency. However, with a few modifications, we are excited to bring Exploration Friday back to ECS in a manner that promotes the safety of our students, staff, and volunteer presenters.
