"In dancing the 5Rhythms the body becomes our spiritual path." Gabrielle Roth
Norwich Classes
Saturday 5R has been regularly dancing at a beautiful church in Aylsham Road for five years with visiting teachers from London. We've come to the end of a chapter in our community, and we're having a pause to see if there's energy for something new to emerge.

If you'd like to get involved or if you'd like to be kept informed about any new initiatives, please signup to the mailing list and join our Facebook group. And check out the links below for other 5R happenings in the region.
New to 5Rhythms?
5Rhythms is an improvised dance practice - sometimes referred to as movement meditation - that anyone can do, whatever your age, shape, gender, mobility or fitness level. No prior knowledge is needed - there are no steps to learn and nothing to get right.

The 5Rhythms movement was founded some 35 years ago in California by Gabrielle Roth. Over the course of many years exploring dance as a vehicle for healing and community building, Gabrielle identified a pattern of movement which she discovered could help awaken the innate capacity of body and soul for healing and wholeness.

From these insights, she developed the 5Rhythms map - Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical, and Stillness - and a methodology of teaching and training. 5Rhythms dance is now taught throughout the world.

The invitation in a 5Rhythms class is to consciously travel through this landscape of movement - which is called a 'Wave'. By being fully in our body and allowing our movement to be relaxed, free and authentic, we release tension naturally and find our deeper source.
