September 2021 Update

Dear Faithful Supporters

“But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.          -   Philippians 4:19

We are so overwhelmed by God’s goodness in how He has chosen to provide for our need of a church van through the hands of our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you all so much for your generosity! We have reached our goal of $10,000! We are ever so grateful for the sacrifice that many of you have made to meet our need! May God richly bless you more abundantly than He has blessed us through you! We are on the hunt now for a van, please pray with us that God would send us to the right one.

Praise the Lord! We have now had two baptisms for the year of 2021. This past August, we had the pleasure of baptizing Sister Raluca. Believers Baptism in Romania is a big deal because when new believers are baptized in Romania they are not only publicly announcing that they have repented of their sin and identify with Christ in faith, but they are also publicly renouncing the Romanian Orthodox Church. Romania is a very “religious” country, with roughly 82% of the population identifying as Romanian Orthodox. Due to that, believers baptism has caused many divisions throughout the country and even within house holds.

Raluca's baptism

Please pray with us for our male new believers in the church, Costel and Fari. They have recently been saved but, still have not chosen to follow the Lord in believers baptism. Also, please pray for Alexandra, a young teen who was saved through our children’s ministry years ago and since then has been growing faithfully in the Lord. Alexandra also desires to be baptized but, her parents will not allow it because according to them she is “too young” (she will turn 16 this year) and because “she might grow to regret it.” This is a common thought process among nonbelievers here because believers baptism is so controversial in Romania. We are praying that her parents will soon see and understand Alexandra’s desire to follow the Lord and that choosing God is not something anyone would ever regret! We are also praying that through this the Holy Spirit will work on their hearts towards salvation.

teens group
The two weeks before school started we decided that we’d have an open door policy with our teens group. Any evening that they wanted, they could come over and play board games together with our family. This turned into board game night nearly every night for those two weeks. During our time of fellowship with them, we learned that many of our teens were struggling with the assurance of their salvation. Promptly, Ruben has started a very thorough series on salvation and the assurance of salvation. Culturally in Romania, salvation is works based. Many times, when we think we could not explain it any more clearly, this stumbling block comes up once again. We are thankful that the teens trusted in us enough to be sincere and share their spiritual questions and concerns with us. Please continue to pray with us for their spiritual growth and understanding. Pray that these lessons and verses will be embedded in their hearts to fight against the devil’s lies. Please also pray that those who still question their salvation will get that settled very soon!

Urgent Prayers for Helen George!

Helen (Lawrence) George was a missionary kid in Romania who recently moved to Texas and married her husband, Kaleb George, in 2019. We meet her back in 2016, while Jordan was going to language school in Timisoara, Romania. Helen has touched many lives, including ours! In fact, she played a big role in leading us here to serve in Sanmihai, Romania.

She has remained in a coma after giving birth to her first born. Praise the Lord that the baby is healthy, but the doctors are giving very little hope for Helen's recovery. Please pray for a miracle in Helen's recovery and for the family as they soon will face many difficult dicisions for her care.

Your prayers and support are invaluable to us! Thank you again for being a part of God’s work in Romania!
