"The One who calls you is faithful..."
1 Thess. 5:24

Welcome to
Su Refugio Peru

Bob & Becky Bass
(and son Colton too!)
For several years Bob, Becky, and their son Colton, have served in two different church plants in the Peruvian cloud forest. In the town of Salvación, they began a pioneer work from ground-stages and ministered in this challenging area known for its numerous religious influences. In addition to the church plant, they began several Bible studies and activities for teens in the area, as well as served in other ministries such as medical campaigns, biblical counseling for the abused, radio ministry, and evangelistic outreach.
The Lord allowed a recent health struggle to move them from their thriving jungle ministry, to the coast of Lima and to work with Su Refugio Ministries Peru. They hope to help Su Refugio begin Rescue Homes (like our Children's Home in Paraguay) throughout Peru by teaming with local government offices and area churches. Bob and Becky share the heart of Su Refugio, "... to care for orphans and widows in their distress” (James 1:27) all for the Glory of God!

Father, we thank you for the way you knit teams together and for Your faithfulness in guiding this ministry to serve those You love. May our affection for You grow just as this team in Peru. We thank You, Lord, for the special gifts that the Bass family brings to serve the lost and broken in Peru. All in the name of our Savior, Jesus!
Bob grew up in the mid-west and even though he grew up in a pastor’s home, he didn’t accept Christ as his Savior until after his first year of study at Faith Baptist Bible College. Not long after, he traveled to Japan on his first missions trip, where he helped build a camp. It was then that he realized the Lord had placed on his heart a deep burden to work in full-time missions. Bob brings his many talents to Su Refugio! In addition, he graduated with a Bachelors of Arts in Evangelism, Missions, and Biblical Studies, as well as a Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling.
Becky grew up in a small Colorado town. She accepted Christ at a very early age and knew the Lord wanted her to serve Him on the mission field. She went to a Christian school and had visited Peru on missions trips before meeting Bob. Becky has always enjoyed cooking from scratch and crafting. She has often used these skills and those she gained in 4-H in her jungle ministry work, teaching new crafts to the ladies and cooking meals for her family. Becky's piano skills have also been invaluable in serving her church communities. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical studies with an Emphasis on Music and a Minor in Spanish, as well as a Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling.
