July letter

ROMANIA

Dear Faithful Supporters

So much has happened since our last letter, it’s difficult to know where to start.

Let’s give God the praise for what He has done in our little village church of Sânmihiau. In the last two weeks, 11 more children have come forward to be saved! Including, Alisa, one of the young ladies that we have been specifically praying for! To God be the glory! That is 22 children saved since January! Hallelujah!

We love when Ruben's father comes to visit and our church truly loves him!
Many children came forward to be saved after his kids club Bible lesson!

Unfortunately, spiritual lows often follow spiritual highs and sadly, several of these children’s parents did not respond well to their decisions of faith. Thankfully, things have calmed down and even despite their own disapprovals, they all have allowed their children to continue to come to church. We covet your prayers over these parents; that they would receive God’s saving grace through the examples of their children’s faith.

We had the opportunity to be back in the church of Medies for their VBS and tent meetings. Ruben translated for Brother Coach Goetsch with the adults while Jordan translated for Mrs. Melany Goetsch with the children. It is always a pleasure to come back and visit these people!

Please also be praying for us and our summer VBS next week. Pray that many more children will come and most importantly, pray that more will hear, understand, and accept the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Another praise and answer to prayer! As the children’s ministry continues to grow, we have been praying for a young person to come along that could help us with the children. Carmen Andrei is that young person. She is a close family friend who just finished her bachelors degree from the university in Cluj. After much prayer, she has devoted herself to work in our children’s ministry this year as she also works towards earning her masters degree.

Here is Carmen with her parents after her college graduation. It is such a joy to have her working with us. We praise the Lord for her!

Because of several reasons including space, man power, and sufficient materials; we do not separate the children in groups according to age.  Consequently, this makes it much more challenging to disciple our older children. We may not have a youth group now, but within a year or two we will have grown one from the children that will eventually age out. In anticipation to this, Jordan invited the girls from ages 10 and up to the house one Saturday. Jordan and Carmen gave a special devotional on modesty and then the girls baked a few coffee cakes for everyone at the church to enjoy that following Sunday. The cakes were so tasty and the girls had so much fun, we are thinking of making this a monthly activity.

We also praise God for all of you. You too share in the blessings of these praises, as your faithful prayers and support has enabled us to serve the Lord here in Romania. And what a Great privilege it is to serve the Lord!
