October 2022Update

Dear Faithful Supporters

Thanksgiving is upon us. It’s a time of year when many of us take notice of all the wonderful blessings God has given us in this life. There are far too many to count. Our God is so Good!

As a country, Romania does not celebrate Thanksgiving, but within October and November, most Evangelical churches do set a day aside to celebrate the harvest and thank the Lord for the fruits of their labor. Last Sunday, our church had our “Day of Thanksgiving to the Lord.” Every year, our members collect food and nonperishables that we then decorate the front of the pulpit and piano with. Then we give it all away to needy families in the community. In years passed we have only had enough food to give to maybe two families but this year, we were able to help six different families!

Here is our teen group with Eva, Sister Raluca, and her son. They spent their Saturday evening helping us clean the church and decorate the cornucopia for our Thanksgiving service.

This year we are especially thankful for the spiritual harvest that we have reaped! Claudia, Fari’s sister, stood up after Oli’s and Fari’s baptism and accepted Christ as her Savior. Praise the Lord!  Then, the next Sunday, Olga, Oli’s wife, was saved and came forward to surrender her life to the Lord. Hallelujah!

We want nothing more than to rest and enjoy these spiritual fruits that the Lord has allowed us to reap, but inevitably our adversary the Devil has (as the Romanians put it) “tired to poke us with his tail.” All month we have felt the sense of spiritual warfare on our family and on our church. Satan has put a large target on us. So we cannot, (must not!) let our guard down and faint in well doing.

Joy with us for these fruits that you have helped us reap! Please also remember to pray for us and these new believers. Satan is trying so hard to destroy us, but we are on the Lord’s side. Thank you for being in our corner!

As we continue to war against spiritual darkness, Ukraine is still waring strong against Putin. Thank you to all of you who have been faithfully giving to our Ukrainian Relief Fund! Ruben and his father were able to take another van full of supples to the Baptist church in Ivano-Frankivsk. The church and Brothers in Ivano-Frankivsk are doing a remarkable job distributing these supplies to needy refugees and soldiers in their community as well as into areas closer to the forefront, newly freed from Russian occupation.

Thank you so much for all that you do! Your prayers and support are more valuable to us than you know! May God bless and keep you!
