Romania has been on lockdown now for a full month. It is predicted that we have yet another week or so before Romania hits its peak of the spread. However, Praise the Lord, more and more people everyday are recovering from the coronavirus. With high hopes, officials claim that the country could be able to open back up again by mid May.
As you know, these days church looks and feels much different, but we are very thankful that we have the option to meet online. Since the lockdown, we have been broadcasting services and children’s church via Facebook and radio. The feed back from our videos have been a magnificent blessing! Furthermore, we are connecting with many Romanians from all over the country and not just in our little village. So much so, that Ruben plans to continue to live stream services with our congregation once the mandated quarantine has been lifted.
Outreach ministry also looks very different, any time Ruben goes out according to the law now he must wear a face mask that covers his nose and mouth. He must also fill out a government issued document that states where he is going, for what purpose, and the time when he left the house. We praise the Lord that although it takes some creativity, with proper care, we can still minister to the people in our village. Every week Ruben goes out to help the isolated, poor, and out of work families in our community. We thank God for the many blessings that have been bestowed on us so that we can be a blessing to others who are hurting in these times.
We also praise and thank the Lord for you! Without your faithful support, we could not be of any help to the hungry families in our village. Likewise, we thank you for your prayers for us and our people here in Sânmihaiu. Please continue to pray for the lost in our village. Ruben has talked with many families and without prompting, they all say about the same thing…”I ‘want’ to get saved,” but they have yet to go through with it. Please pray for our people, the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. Please also be in special prayer for Sister Rodica. She is a dear older sister within our church family, who has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in the liver and spleen. Please pray for healing and comfort for her and her family at this time.
As always, we are praying for you. May the Lord supply your needs and give you peace, comfort, and strength to endure in these uncertain times.
Your missionaries to Romania,
Ruben, Jordan, & Eva Cristinoiu
