Dear Faithful Supporters,

It is always a pleasure it is to share with you how God continues to bless us and His work here in Romania! It has only been a short time since the move to our new church and new home, yet in many ways the Lord has undoubtably revealed to us that, He is in it!

As you may recall from our last letter, one of our goals when coming to Grace of Life Baptist Church was to start and build up the children’s ministries. With the help of fellow missionary, Piripi Scott, we have done just that. Brother Piripi is a single missionary from New Zealand, who is working with us this year until he is married.  In October, we started out with just a small hand full of children coming periodically with their grandparents. Now we have a consistent group of 15 to 20 children in regular attendance and we are still growing!

Because the children’s ministries are so new, all of our Bible lessons have mainly centered on the gospel, to which we have already begun reaping a harvest of souls: Maria, David, Mario, Andrea, Antonella, and Robert. Praise the Lord for these six children that have come forward to be saved! We have been blessed beyond measure to see these children grow and mature every week in their knowledge and understanding of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Since early November we had been working diligently with the children in preparing a Christmas program for our special Christmas Day service. Many of our children are the only members of their family who actually attend church. Our prayer was that many of their parents would hear the Gospel when they came to see their kids in the program. Surprisingly, out of 11 children, only one parent came to the program. Please pray for these children and their families. It's going to take a lot more home visits before we may see more of the parents’ attendance in church. Please pray for us as we search for ways to invite them and other families in the village to church.

Unfortunately, this is not the only trial we are currently facing at Grace of Life. Recently, Ruben has been dealing with a constant wave of petty arguments from a few men in the church. It’s a power struggle and it’s one that we anticipated. These men have grown accustom to preaching on a regular basis. Now normally, Ruben would gladly use their abilities behind the pulpit. However, upon hearing and having to repeatedly correct their preaching, it was evident that they saw the position as a right and not a service unto the Lord. Because one of Ruben’s responsibilities as pastor is to protect the pulpit, these men will no longer be allowed to preach. We ask that you shower us with your prayers over this. Please pray for the Lord’s discernment as Ruben continues to deal with these men. Please also pray for these men, instead of hardening their hearts our prayer is that they would graciously receive correction and grow from it.

On a more positive note, we have had so much to be thankful for with this new move! Thanks to the help of so many friends and family, we managed to move in and settle very quickly. Our last home was fully furnished, thus necessitating the purchase of some new items. Because the Lord directed us to affordable and quality furniture, we were able to furnish our new home with ease. And through the thoughtfulness of the previous pastor, our home and church are already stocked with fire wood for the winter. We stand in awe with just how much the Lord has put everything together for us, not only to thrive in His work, but also to feel at home.

Last but not least, we are also so very thankful for you! Thank you for your continued faithfulness in prayers and financial support this year! We simply could not do the Lord’s work in Romania without you!

Wishing you & yours a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
