Dear Co-laborers in the Work

So far, we have completed four different sessions of VBS camp and tent meetings. Thank you all so much for your prayers! Many children, teens, and adults have heard the clear message of the Gospel. A number of these have also accepted Christ as their Savior!

Praise the LORD!!
Andrea was saved during the VBS   in Sânmihiau. She is attending the church there for the summer,  but will be moving to England with her family in the fall. Please pray that they find a good Bible believing church there!
Miriam, the young girl in the middle, was also saved. Not only are we praying for their spiritual grown but we are also praying for the Lord to use these girls as model witnesses that other children like them can also be saved.

We have more camps and meetings before the summer is over, and we ask that you will keep them and us in your prayers. Satan is using all his tricks to deter people from the acceptance of the Gospel.

Ephesians 6:12, “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

We need to fight back! We need your prayers!! Please pray specifically that the Lord would prepare hearts and minds for the Gospel, and that many would come, hear, understand, and accept the truth of His Word. Please pray for our churches in Satu Mare! There are several teens and children that come to our services and Sunday school regularly, but still have not made a decision to accept Christ as their Savior. Please continue to pray for our health and safety on the road as we travel to do more camps and tent meetings this summer, sharing with the Romanian and Roma people the wonderful truth that salvation and redemption can be found through the forgiveness of sins, purchased for us by our Savior, Jesus Christ.

School's out and so is our reading program!
We finished up our reading program in Medies just before we started their VBS. As much as they look forward to VBS all year long, they were still sad to be ending their time with us in the program. We are so proud of our students and all the hard work and time they have spent with us!
Playing with letter stamps.
Doing seat work quietly & diligently.

When we began, many of our students didn’t know any of the letters in the Romanian alphabet, not even the alphabet song! After several weeks of classes they now know the song, all the letters, vowels, special accented vowels, and all the special sounds of the Romanian language. This has helped improve their reading skills tremendusly! They all have progressed so well in the classroom, though a few students had a real challenge advancing because their lessons began to get a bit difficult. Some began whining in the beginning, and I had to hold a few hands and write the letters for them just so we could say that they did some of the work from that day. However, in the end, these guys progressed the most during our reading program! They saw that hard work pays off. By the time we reached the end of the program, they were doing seat work all by themselves without extra motivation or prompting from teachers and helpers.

If you are curious, here is what the Romanian alphabet looks like.

To some, it may seem that this program was insignificant. But it was a small step in the right direction because it encouraged these children to attend, and stay, in school. It encouraged them, not only to read, but to read well, and to read their Bibles! The truth is, it is not enough to teach children how to read. We must teach them to read well. For what children know to do well, they shall do often. And what Book is better to be read often than the Bible? In the coming school year, some of our students will attend classes for the first time, simply because our program gave them the courage and ability to do so. We praise the Lord for this, and give Him all the glory!

Can you believe that our little baby girl is now 6 months old! Neither can we!  Eva is already sitting up by herself and eating solid foods! Her favorite foods so far are goat cheese, egg yokes, watermelon, avocados, and carrots. We are so abundantly blessed from the Lord to have her a part of our family! Thank you so much for all your prayers for us as new parents, serving the Lord on the field.
