Good afternoon!
I hope this email finds you having a great day.  I wanted to take a moment to invite you to our Church Meeting tonight during Worship On Wednesday.  W.O.W. begins at 6pm with a snack dinner and then we have a time of praise and worship before the children and youth split into their groups while the adults remain in the Worship Center.  On a regular WOW night, I have an interactive message and discussion with adults but this week (tonight) will be different.
As you know, we did visioning early in the year and out of that process of Vision Team meetings followed by Home Group meetings to present the vision we were able to solidify our vision of Inspiring people to fulfill God’s calling in their life.  We simply want to lead people from where they are to where God would have them to be.  This is made clear in our #BeYou4Him hashtag.
We also set some goals.  This year it was to launch Grow to be You Dayschool which we have done and to launch Worship On Wednesday which is also in place.  Our 2018 goals are to launch a second service (accomplished with how we have designed WOW) and to launch coffeehouse.  In 2019, our goal was to find a new location.
As with any effective visioning process, we continued to meet to evaluate how we were doing and what was next.  As we looked at launching the coffeehouse planning process it became apparent that we needed to decide if that coffeehouse would be ‘onsite’ (at the church) or ‘offsite’ (at a different location) because that would impact the 2019 church location goal.  After discussion, it became clear that being ‘onsite’ makes the most sense for us given our size and our needs at this time so we reached out to Congregational Development to see what our options might be in working with them since they are the revitalization and church planting wing of the denomination.
After I met with Director Phil Schroeder, we decided it would be best if we had a discussion about these possibilities with the church itself (Do we re-plant and rebrand?  Do we seek another way to revitalize? Do we seek to merge with another church and combine resources? Something else?).   We looked at this being a Vision Team meeting or an Administrative Council meeting or a combination of both but Phil’s idea was to include as many people as were interested in coming so that is what we are doing.  This discussion is what we are inviting you to help with.  Each person that calls Arbor Pointe Church their home church has valuable input that will be useful and helpful to us as we seek our place in this community and in the bigger Church.
The vision documents remain on the website for demographics in the area and the PowerPoint handout.  If you want to view the video, go to and search for ‘Arbor Pointe Vision’ and you’ll find it.
I hope you’ll make the time to come Wednesday evening.  This is an important meeting for us here at Arbor Pointe Church and your input is going to most helpful to us as we move forward.

PS - HUGE 'Thank You's' to all who packed Disaster Relief Buckets and Hygiene Kits and traveled to Jonesville, Virginia to work on the homes of folks you don't even know so they could be 'warmer, safer, and dryer' this winter and all those who make Arbor Pointe Church an amazing place to worship and serve our God!!
