Koinonia Prayer List

PRAYER REQUESTS (joys and concerns) should be called in or e-mailed to the church office. With your permission, they will be listed in the Koinonia prayer list, and announced in worship so that the church family can pray for the mentioned needs. Please keep the office updated on the requests.

Likewise the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but that very Spirit intercedes with sighs too deep for words.   Romans 8:26

  • From the POV - Seymour, First, First Presbyterian, Rev. Scott Hookey Seymour is a church of approximately 120 members.  Over the winter a group of members sought to interview each member to get their impressions of the church and its meaning for them.  At the top of the list for most was that First is a church that supports one another throughout all of life. Nurturing these personal relationships, enjoying fellowship, and supporting each other in times of need is paramount.  Beyond that, the church seeks to draw from that strength to reach out to the community and is continually in search of ways to extend the grace of God into our community.  As a congregation, we continue to pray for each other and our church family as we seek safe and appropriate ways to reopen this summer.  As with most churches, we covet the prayers of others as we discern our way.

Weekly Prayers
Morning:

O Heavenly Father,
in whom we live and move and have our being,
I humbly pray Thee so to guide and govern me by Thy Holy Spirit,
that in all the cares and occupations of my daily life
I may never forget Thee,
but remember that I am ever walking in Thy sight;
for Thine own name's sake.
Amen
   -- Ancient Collect
Evening:

Do not cast me off because I am a sinner,
do not hold aloof from me because I am not clean ....
Forgive the sins I have committed today.
Protect me during the coming night and keep me safe
from the machinations and contrivances of the enemy,
that I may not sin ...
Amen
