Passing the Baton - Pip Brennan's farewell
Tomorrow 31st March 4-5.30 online

Just in case you haven't heard, Pip Brennan is moving on from leading Health Consumers' Council after seven years - join us to celebrate her time at the helm

Pip Brennan has been a health consumer advocate and a compassionate disruptor of the status quo for many years.

She started her consumer representative journey in the maternity sector, and began her paid health career as an Advocate working at the Health Consumers’ Council in 2006. Moving through a range of roles in the public and non-government sectors - with a continued focus on lived experience advocacy - she returned to HCC in 2015 this time as Executive Director.

After seven years in the role she is now ready to move on from leading an organisation and will continue her advocacy while freeing up her energy and time to focus on her writing career.

Join Pip and the HCC family as we reflect on the achievements of the last seven years, and look ahead to how the HCC will continue to champion lived experience perspectives in an ever-changing health system. Pip will also introduce Suzanna Robertson who will be joining HCC as Executive Director from early April.

Welcome Suzanna Robertson!

The Health Consumers’ Council (HCC) WA Management Committee and HCC look forward to welcoming a new Executive Director – Suzanna Robertson!
With strong skills in stakeholder engagement, advocacy, financial management and strategic development, combined with a commitment to amplifying the voice of marginalised groups and influencing positive change in health service equity, Suzanna is extremely well-placed to lead the HCC through its next chapter.
Suzanna brings with her a wealth of experience in senior leadership roles across both not-for profit and government sectors, including positions at Rise, WA Primary Health Alliance and the Mental Health Commission.
The Management Committee would like to take this opportunity to thank outgoing Executive Director Pip Brennan for her dedication and commitment to the HCC over the last seven years, with the organisation going from strength to strength during this time. Additionally, thank you to Clare Mullen for ably stepping into the Executive Director role at HCC during the recruitment process, and we look forward to her continued leadership in health sector collaboration and reform in her ongoing role as Deputy Director at HCC.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities as the Traditional Custodians of the land we work on, specifically the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation, and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded.
