Reflections on the year so far

We’re now well into the second half of 2015 and it’s been an busy and eventful year on many fronts with the recent general election and Budget in the UK, and a significant amount of economic and political change taking place in Eurozone and around the world.
The numerous business owners and advisers who we speak to report a positive outlook on business prospects for the rest of the year, albeit they are all mindful of the challenges that may arise from issues including as the situation in Greece and any consequential impact on UK and European economies.
We hope you are managing to balance the challenges of looking ahead and anticipating impacts from external events as well as the daily pressures of managing the business and driving for growth.

Below you'll find an update on what we've been up to at Whitecap - where we're certainly having a busy year. On the right hand side are some links to recent news, including our joining the CBI and partnering with the IoD for a digital workshop and golf day.

So what have we been up to at Whitecap?

This year we’ve worked on a number of projects, including:

  • CRM strategy for a well known high street retail brand to help develop and integrate physical store and digital customer engagement and sales
  • Strategic marketing planning and implementation for a fast growing B2B FinTech business
  • Brand, marketing, product and distribution strategy for a new B2B2C business, backed by a major PE firm
  • Managing the global agency RFP process to select a global marketing agency for an ambitious PE-backed food franchise business
  • Writing an investment business plan for an enterprise software company looking to raise debt funding, working in partnership with a funding expert
  • Brand strategy review for a long established and well known B2C brand
  • Marketing strategy, proposition and distribution planning for a highly innovative and rapidly growing digital media business in UK and USA

Commercial Due Diligence

We’ve been discussing our light-touch Commercial Due Diligence proposition with the adviser community in the North, which has included meetings with PE firms, corporate finance firms, lawyers, accountants and other deal advisers. People & Insights

In January we appointed our first non-executive director, the ex Yorkshire Bank director Gary Lumby MBE. We have also signed up a number of new Associates to provide us with increased capability in areas such as digital, consumer goods, retail, financial services, technology, and corporate financeView our team here.
We are about to commence a research project to understand where sizeable SME's and mid-sized firms go for advice and support regarding growth and if the advice they receive meets their requirements and needs. If you would like to learn more or share your views and experiences please get in touch.
