All at CCC hope that you have wintered well and that your clubs and players are enjoying the start of the new season.
The first cricketing Newsletter of the season has reports of our early representative matches. For the match against Middlesex on 6 May, the side scheduled to be selected was badly affected - but for all the right reasons. Tanveer Sikandar was selected by Essex for their championship match against Leicestershire; Aaron West (Brentwood C.C.) was selected by Hampshire for his first class debut, and Imran Qayyum (Loughton C.C.) was offered a contract by Kent, meaning he is no longer eligible for repsentative selection by CCC. The match reports can be found here
All at CCC wish these three every success as they pursue their cricketing hopes and dreams and we offer our heartiest congratulations on their selections.
Charles Randall brings us the news of the shocking death of Dave Percy of King's Langley, mid-over, playing for his beloved club and a must-read article on the ECB/Waitrose Open Day.
We also report on the con-man thefts from a club in the Kingston area which should act as a warning to us all. Just in case you missed it on the CCC website, there is a wonderful chance for two players from the South Asian League Forum to play in the All Out Cricket end of season competition at Arundel.
We also reprint the page from the yearbook on the Rob George Foundation which has the full support of the CCC.
