The Library Summer Reading Programs for youth have started at all of the Mercer County District Library locations. Check out what all is happening at each branch below.


 

Celina News

 

Youth Summer Reading

 

Monday Active-Noon

Children ages 8 to 12 are invited every Monday from 1-2 pm to enjoy a fun-filled day with games including Let’s play ball, flag football, water Olympics and much more! Children will need to register in advance, so call ahead to reserve a spot.

Story & Craft Hour

On Wednesdays from June 8 to July 20, there will be a special story and craft hour for children ages 6 to 10.  Children will have a chance to attend the story and craft program each Wednesday, from 10:00 to 11:00 am. Pre-registration is required for each session.  Space for the story and craft hours is limited, so make sure to sign up 1 week in advance.

Preschool Story Time

Preschool Story Time every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 am for children ages 0 to 6. No registration is required.
 

Movie Night

Wednesday, July 13 5:30 pm: All ages.
 

Adult Summer Reading

The Adult Summer Reading program will run from June 20 to September 2. Bi-weekly drawings for various prizes will be held on Fridays at 3 pm beginning July 8. To enter, participants will need to read or listen to 5 books and complete an entry form.

An end of Summer Reading the library will hold an Ice Cream Social and Grand Prize Drawing will be held on September 2 at 3 pm. Grand prize winners can win a Fit Bit, $75 Amazon Gift Card, or a Kindle Fire.

Additional adult programs will be announced later.

Thursday, June 9 1:30 pm: Kick off party with Minnetrista Theatre presenting "My Plate: The Musical".
Monday, June 13 1:30 pm: Mariners baseball team will be at the Library.  
Monday, June 13 3 pm: Baseball Frisbee craft and a movie
Tuesday, June 14 6:30 pm: Family night featuring fish. Craft included.
Monday, June 20 1:30 and 3 pm: Pom Pom Shooter craft and a movie
Monday, June 27 1:30 and 3 pm: Yoga with Kim Oen of Just Breathe Health & Wellness and Pong Paddles craft
Monday, July 11 1:30 and 3 pm: Cheeseman Trucking will be here with a truck for kids to explore and a Cool-Off craft
Tuesday, July 12 6:30 pm: Family Night -- Popcorn Olympics
Monday, July 18 1:30 and 3 pm: Activity Roller craft and a movie
Monday, July 25 1:30 and 3 pm: Craft is Olympic Torch craft and a movie
Thursday, July 28 1:30 pm: End of summer reading party at the Maria Stein Knights of St. John hall with "Greg Carson - Magician"
