Summer Reading Programs to Begin

It's that time again - Summer! And that means it is time for the Library Summer Reading Programs to begin. This year the theme for the programs is wellness, fitness, and sports.

Kids - On Your Mark, Get Set, Read
Teens - Get in the Game: Read
Adults - Exercise Your Mind, Read

Look below to see when summer reading begins at each of the Mercer County District Libraries.


Memorial Day

The Mercer County District Library and its three branches will be closed Monday, May 30 for Memorial Day.

Celina News

Summer Hours

Beginning Tuesday, May 31 the Mercer County District Library in Celina will begin Summer Hours. The Library will be open:

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 9 AM to 6 PM
Wednesday: 9 AM to 8 PM
Saturday: 9 AM to 5 PM

The Branch Libraries in Mendon, St. Henry and Chickasaw hours will remain the same.

Youth Summer Reading to Begin

Registration for the youth summer reading program will begin on Thursday, May 26. The official start of Summer Reading will begin with a Kick-Off Party with the Minnetrista Theater Group on Friday, June 3 at 10 am.

The Children's Department Newsletter is available online to see all the exciting events that the Library is going to offer.

Brad Cull to Demonstrate Copper Working

The Lake Area Arts Group will be hosting an introduction to the art of copper-smithing with Brad Cull. Mr. Cull is an artist and owner of The Rathskeller Werkes.  The demonstration will be held May 14 from 10 to 11:30 am. Maximum of 9 students total. Registration required.

Examples of Mr. Cull's works are currently on display at the Mercer County District Library in Celina.


Summer Reading Begins

Summer is here and so is the Summer Reading Program. The first day to register will be Tuesday, May 24. The Library will also be holding a Kick-Off Party on Thursday, June 9 at 1:30 PM. The Minnetrista Theater Group will be performing at the party.

Summer Reading Registration Begins

Reading isn't just for the school year, it's a year round thing! The Mendon Branch Library Summer Reading Program begins on Monday, June 6.

Summer Reading Begins Soon

School is letting out for summer breaks so parents and children may want to stop by the Library. The Library will be having its annual Summer Reading Program. Registration begins on May 24.
