New Online Reservations and Ticketing System approved by PWP Board of Directors

The Pinewood Players Board of Directors voted to proceed with a Special Committee recommendation to implement an online reservations and ticketing system which will allow purchases of individual performance tickets as well as  season ticket packages via the Pinewood Players web site. The Special Committee headed by Kathy Abramowitz investigated several options and made a recommendation to implement one specific system which is currently in use by some valley community theater organizations. This automated ticketing system will be an added convenience for those customers who prefer to purchase tickets via the internet and it will offer payment options including credit and debit cards.  Among other features the online ticketing system will allow customers to print their purchased tickets at home.  The online ticketing and reservation system is scheduled to be ready for use by March 2014. More detailed information about system features and how to use the online ticketing and reservations system will be provided in future newsletters as well as in special communication emails which will be sent to members and supporters. Of course, if you prefer to purchase your tickets via mail or in person at the Pinewood Playhouse Box Office, these options will remain available.  It is believed that the implementation of online ticketing and reservations will not only make it easier and more convenient for our members to purchase tickets, but it will also help expand the Theatre in the Pines experience to outlying markets in Flagstaff, Verde Valley and surrounding areas. Tickets for all plays will officially go on sale in March.  Until then, watch for the announcements in future newsletter editions.

January News Clips

Pinewood Playhouse to get new restroom doors provided by Pinewood Country Club

At their January 10 meeting the Pinewood Country Club Board of Directors approved funds to replace the exterior doors on the Mens and Womens restrooms in the Pinewood Playhouse.  In prior discussions with the Club Pinewood Players had offered to pay 50% of the cost of replacing both of the non-standard sized doors. That cost was estimated to be in excess of $1500. However,  while appreciating the offer, the Club decided to cover the entire cost of replacement in the spirit of cooperation and goodwill. The work will take place this spring and is to be completed by the time the club opens for the 2014 season. A big Pinewood Players "THANK YOU" goes out the Pinewood Country Club for their generosity.

After their December meeting the Pinewood Country Club BOD endorsed Pinewood Players with the following statement which was published to the PWCC Membership last month.
"The Pinewood Players have been busy preparing for next season. New chairs and carpeting have been installed in the theater and they are already working on their upcoming productions. We encourage all Pinewood members to consider joining the Pinewood Players and if you haven't seen one of their productions you are definitely missing a treat!"
Thanks again to the PWCC for their support and cooperation!

Pinewood Players Board of Directors approves additional sound upgrade

Funds for two additional wireless microphones and one additional wireless transmitter have been approved by the Pinewood Players BOD. Ron Peterson, Chairman of the Lighting and Sound Committee has been authorized to make the purchase and add the additional sound equipment in time for the opening of the 2014 Theatre in the Pines season. Last year prior to the 2013 season, the board authorized the purchase of the first wireless microphones and transmitters to begin upgrading the sound equipment in the Pinewood Playhouse. These new sound instruments were used in the musical production of "Bells are Ringing" with great success. There were many positive comments by our members and patrons regarding the improved sound quality. This is another example of how your donations and membership dues are put to excellent use to improve the quality of the performances. Pinewood Players is committed to a program of continuous improvement, both technically and artistically. Your generous support enables these improvements to continue.
