"Creating Your Low Waste Home" - Come and learn creative ways to modify your lifestyle in order to reduce your waste, save money and have fun!

Takoma Park resident and entrepreneur Brooke Moore (simplifywithbrooke.com) will teach you concrete steps toward developing a low waste life. 7-8:30 pm. at Historic Takoma. Free and open to all.

"Primer on State and County Tax Credits
for Home Repair" 

Come attend an important presentation by Scott Whipple, Section Head of the Montgomery County Historic Preservation Section and learn about the resources available to you to care for your historic home. Both the County tax credits and the State Rehabilitation Tax Credit will be discussed. 7 pm at Historic Takoma. Free and open to all.

Tuesday, February 18
"Restoration of Historic Windows" 

Join us for a presentation by expert craftsman Neil Mozer of Mozer Works, Inc. and Lorraine Pearsall of Historic Takoma on the process and benefits of restoring your windows. Neil will walk you through his restoration process and Lorraine will discuss both State and County tax credits for this restoration. 7 pm at Historic Takoma. Free and open to all.

Historic Takoma is located at 7328 Carroll Avenue in Takoma Junction. Parking available in city lot next to the Co-op.

10th Annual Montgomery County History Conference 

Full day of workshops, presentations, and panels on local history covering archaeology, 20th century suburbs, immigration, architecture, social clubs, and much more, plus a beer and wine reception to end the day. 

Where: Bioscience Education Center at Montgomery College, Germantown (20200 Observation Dr. Germantown, MD 20876). 8:15 am-4:15 pm.

Registration fee: $50 (Montgomery County residents), $55 (others), $10 (students).  Details and registration form
