We truly believe The Green Gathering is the BEST value festival around...

At this year's Green Events and Innovations conference in London on Tuesday, The Green Gathering won

The International Greener Festival Award for Power

for pioneering 100% renewable-energy festivals and for providing not only our own event power using renewables, but also giving inspiration and a platform to many others to go out and do the same.

We were also one of just 7 European festivals to receive an Outstanding Award for overall sustainability -  and were shortlisted for another 5 international awards.

~ Big respect and thanks to GG's renewable power providers: you shine! ~

Intergalactic rock-ravers
HENGE will be visiting from farflung star fields...

Named Live Act of The Year at the Association of Independent Festivals Awards 2018, Henge are like no band you saw before and they have a message for us humans:

"We have news. Planet Earth is an experiment.  Your species was sent codes from space, to help you love and dance.  But your leaders grew scared. They hid the codes from you. Now your consciousness shrinks and they destroy your world with weapons of war.  Ravelings of Earth, rebel! Absorb the mutated frequencies of Cosmic Dross. There are no Earth words to describe these sounds. But you will learn how to love and dance again.   This is your future. Put down the weapons. Unite..."

Don't miss the Henge show - preview below.

Energetic surrealist festival stalwarts The Don Bradmans will be causing carefully orchestrated mayhem under canvas. The chaps have created a truly eclectic sound by mixing genres from Music Hall to Frank Zappa, Beefheart to Punk and more.

Mamatung describe themselves as a Freak Folk Trio of female musicians with a sprinkling of Scouse ceremony and a journey to the centre of the heart. Playing a mixture of instruments including autoharp, melodica, chimes, shamanic drums, bass, singing bowl, ukulele and more, their sets are magical and unique.

Formed in the heatwave of summer 2018,
Solar Love Society are a hippie super-group formed by members of some of Sheffield’s most beloved festival bands. Combining up-tempo Reggae, euphoric Dub, riotous Funk, Latin, Ska, DnB and more with a positive message of human solidarity and unity, SLS are guaranteed to get you moving!

Boom Boom Racoon started life gigging at anti-fracking sites, rescue plant milk tetrapaks from recycling to make cases for their CD albums, use cereal box stencils for their charity shop band shirts and fund most of their adventures through busking. Ska kids playing angry off-beat folk: DIY forever and for a future.

Plenty more still to come so keep checking for announcements!

When one of the bands you've booked, announced and put on the flyer suddenly backs out... and you can only congratulate them!!!

We love Formidable Vegetable Sound System.

We had a dilemma about booking them, because they come all the way from Australia; we agreed only if they were coming on a European tour so we wouldn't be instrumental in encouraging all those air miles.

Well there was a tour... but now there isn't... and though we'll miss you, Charlie McGee, GOOD ON YOU!!

Here's why Formidable Vegetable cancelled.

We truly believe The Green Gathering is the BEST value festival around...
and the BEST FESTIVAL of all, full stop!

The Green Gathering is a festival and a community; an immersive, interactive showcase of skill sharing, creative solutions and off grid living... all powered by wind, sun, people and passion.

It's a festival beyond hedonism for people who love the earth enough to celebrate and save it; a place to party - then wake up and put the world to rights!

With an authentically uncommercial, family friendly and transformative experience, we aim to turn people on to community building, co-operation and
low impact solutions.
The festival is produced by Optimistic Trout Productions, a Community Interest Company, and commissioned by the Green Gathering charity (no. 1156593).

Use this link to switch to clean renewable energy with Ecotricity and we'll receive up to £60 towards making the festival even better, at no extra cost to you.
The Green Gathering has received funding from the Welsh Government, in recognition of the positive impact we bring to Chepstow and beyond.
This will help the festival become increasingly sustainable both financially and environmentally, while providing festival goers with a stepping stone into the fabulous countryside and culture of Wales.
