GG favourites
The High Breed - "taking hip hop to higher dimensions" - creating new, innovative and thought provoking music, aiming to transcend social limitations and boundaries of class, race and age.

Echo Town with mesmerising contemporary freedom songs and multi-instrumental talent; drums, dij, lap-slide guitar, poignant lyrics and barefoot dancing create a party with conscience and a platform to spread peace, love and unity.

Skiprat - a punk/reggae/ska band from the north of England with over 15 years' festival experience, they'll be ''keeping it real" with irresistable skankin' tunes such as 'peaceful protest', 'occupy', 'politician man' and 'fezzie tune'.

The Brewer's Daughter - a perfectly balanced brew of traditional and original folk featuring antique fiddle, vintage guitar and gutsy female vocals.

Dragonsfly captivate with their energising, groove-driven music inspired by Celtic and Eastern European folk mixed with melodies from the Middle and Far East - played on everything from bagpipes to bouzouki, oud to accordion.

Lyrical, bardic and feral, Brian Boothby will bring us firegazing story-weaving original songs of vision, loss, land and valediction.

Machynlleth-based Latino Flower Punk band Cloud Cuckoo play joyful revolutionary dance music inspired by Chilean artist Victor Jara, a potent symbol of struggle for human rights and justice.

And, rounding up this month's line-up news, The Majestic will be bringing us their unique take on classic roots rock reggae, spreading love through music and encouraging us to sing along!

Voices of Gaia, our new talk space in the 'Earth Energies' area, will focus on bringing modern life into alignment with the natural world. We'll be looking at historical and spiritual traditions from shamanism to sacred geometry, plant medicine to grieving rituals, architecture to astrology.

The Serendipity space next door will host workshops in traditional arts such as Breton dance, Welsh folklore, shadow puppetry, hedgerow remedies, wood recognition and the importance of ritual. This space will also be the base for ceremonies - handfastings, coming of age rituals and the infamous 'Very Sacred Pimms & Chocolate Ceremony' - which will spill from the Serendipity dome onto the Village Green with its spectacular view over the Severn estuary.

Not only were we Greenest at the UK Festival Awards... The Green Gathering was also one of only 4 European festivals (out of 34 festivals across 12 countries) to be awarded an Outstanding rating by A Greener Festival.

AGF recognises that festivals can be a powerful tool to communicate and demonstrate alternative ways of living for audience, crew, stakeholders and artists... and that this can impact both daily consumption patterns and our relationship with the natural world and its resources. AGF looks at whether events make the most of this potential... and in this area GG scored 100%!

If your outlook or behaviour has changed as a result of experiences gained at The Green Gathering, please do let us know. We aim to make a positive impact on our community, land and world - we need you to help us know what works!

If you can help distribute GG posters (A4) and flyers (A6), please email with your postal address and how many you'd like. We need everyone who loves the festival to help spread the word!

The Green Gathering is a festival and an education, an interactive showcase of renewable energy and off grid solutions... all powered by wind, sun and people.

It's a festival beyond hedonism, for people who love the earth enough to want to celebrate and save it. It's a place to party - then wake up and put the world to rights!

Authentically uncommercial and family friendly, our aim is to turn people on to low impact living, community building, co-operation and positive sustainable solutions.

The festival is produced by a Community Interest Company, and commissioned by the Green Gathering Charity which aims to keep the spirit of the Gatherings true, while educating for sustainability and  empowering us to create a better future. The GG Charity
