If you know you want to come... Don't Wait!

How was it, what did you love, what should we change?

Let us know, it'll help us make 2019 even better!

  1. Our spacious woodland site, with its awesome trees and views.
  2. The music - variety, venues, impromptu gigs and all.
  3.  The evolution of the Kids' Area (bungee trampolines were a hit).
  4. Learning useful stuff in practical and creative workshops.
  5. Talks in the Forum & performance of all kinds in the Raconteurs' Delight.
  6. How clean the site is, throughout the festival and afterwards.
  7. The variety of delicious, ethical veggie and vegan food.
  8. Compost John's giant compost heap and Permaculture skillshares.
  9. The magic hat bus from the train station and the double decker shuttles; our improved traffic plan; fewer hold ups getting off on Monday!
  10. Lastly but mostly, you loved Each Other...
...Yes, the best thing of all is being with like-minded people; meeting old friends and new; the amosphere, the vibe, the gathering of the tribes; the special sense of belonging; the learning from and supporting each other.

Thankyou to the Green Gathering community - the families, the young, the elders, the crew, performers, artists, traders and all - for helping us create such a magical, inspirational, time-outside-time. Let's do it again even better in 2019!

(p.s we're on it already, planning improvements for 2019)

  1. The heatwave led to increased demand on taps and low water pressure at times. Plumbing improvements are our priority.
  2. Not enough handwash sinks; we had some more on order, they didn't arrive. We need to find out what went wrong and put it right!
  3. Heatwave = more toilet smells. We'll ask for more cleaning next year.
  4. The weather. Too hot for some. Lovely shady trees & tents though.
  5. Confusion. New campervan area, new improved traffic plan, new entrance, new baggage trikes... all good, but some stewards weren't well enough briefed on all of the things. Must brief better next year.
  6. For some people it was too noisy too late, for others music didn't go on late enough. What to do? So tricky to please all of the people!
  7. Carrying everything including the kitchen sink from carpark to campsite, even with the assistance of shuttle bus and baggage trike, is hard work. (Would festival kit lists help people bring less stuff?)
  8. Some people loved this year's Faerie Glade and Campaigns Field, others didn't so much. These will evolve; stay tuned.
  9. Leaving. Such a wrench after four short but endless days and nights.
  10. Struggling now; there just aren't that many things not to love...
... It's true. Our feedback survey shows 88% satisfaction. Not bad!

Our Green Gathering entertainment co-ordinator, the guy who books the bands and runs The Raconteurs' Delight, needs your help.

He's known as Dave Weirdigan, he's fighting leukaemia and needs a stem cell transplant to survive. There's an international register of potential stem cell donors but so far no one on the register is a DNA match for Dave.

It's easy to join the register. If you're between 18 and 55 years old here's how.

If Dave had his way we'd be living in a diverse, co-operative, inclusive, Green utopia with a great soundtrack and compulsory dancing. Let's help him find a donor so he can get on with building towards a better world.

Register with DKMS, a charity aiming to delete blood cancer. You might not be the one to #SaveDave but you could save another human instead and that'd be good.
