Sports & Active Recreation Participation Surveys
In support of VicHealth's 'This Girl Can' campaign and the recently announced Regional Sport Program 2018-21, Sports Central  will be working with local partners, including sporting clubs, to create more sport and active recreation opportunities for women and girls and young people aged 12-17. To have your say about what barriers prevent you from participating and what opportunities you would like to see in our region, please complete either of our surveys.

Sporting Club Grant Recipients
Congratulations to the many sporting clubs and associations from the Central Highlands who recently received a grant through the Sport and Recreation Victoria Sporting Club Grants Program.  For the full listing visit our website.
Daughters of the West
On Tuesday 18th August more than 45 women attended their final Daughters of the West session for 2018.  The program provided the participants weekly information sessions on health and wellbeing followed by a physical activity component.  Participants will formally graduate in front of family and friends in the coming weeks.  To find more information on the program, visit our website.
Girls golf program a huge success
The Ballarat District Golf Incorporated Girls Development Squad program is the first initiative of its type in the state, with 16 activities delivered between November 2017 and July 2018.  Twenty girls participated in the inaugural program.  For the whole story visit our website.
AAA Play rolled out across state
AAA Play is an online service provided by Reclink Australia and the State Government of Victoria that connects people with a disability to sports and recreational opportunities.  A recent collaboration with the nine Victorian Regional Sports Assemblies, including Sports Central, has enabled these opportunities to be featured in one place.  For more information and to access the website click here.
Golden Plains 'Take the Lead' event
Former Australian Netball Captain Sharelle McMahon is coming to Golden Plains Shire to inspire women to 'Take the Lead' in local sport.

2018 Netball Victoria Community Awards
Nominations for the Netball Victoria 2018 Community Awards are now open.  The awards celebrate the significant achievements of individuals, groups and associations who have contributed to the sport of netball in Victoria.  There are seven different categories in which to nominate.  Nominations close Friday 5th October.  For more information visit our website..

Skate Competition in Creswick
