the forum will explore the topics of inclusion, gender equity and what it means for your sport.  We will also celebrate the exciting growth in social and modified sport and showcase the leaders who have made it all happen across the region.

STRENGTHENING OUR GAME PLAN

The Ballarat and District Drug Action Partnership invites sporting organisations and community groups to this free community forum on Monday 30th October at 6:30pm.  The guest speaker will be Gavin Crosisca, a former Collingwood premiership player.  Gavin will share his story of drug addiction and how he finally overcame it.

ROCK UP NETBALL IN ARARAT

Rock Up Netball is starting in Ararat at the Alexandra Oval from Thursday 9th November.  This program is a flexible way to get active and incorporates basic netball skills, modified games and activities.  Rock Up Netball is free and is for females 15 and over. To register contact Mel Taylor on 0439 331699 or email mel.taylor@netballvic.com.au

PLAYGOLF - BEGINNERS GOLF CLINICS IN ARARAT

As a part of the Ararat Active8 season, PlayGolf clinics will run at both Chalambar and Aradale Golf Clubs.  PlayGolf is an adult beginner golf program.  No experience or skill-level is required of participants, just an interest to learn the game in a fun, social and welcoming environment.
Aradale - from Tuesday 24th October at 6pm
Chalambar - from Thursday 26th October at either 10am or 6pm

GIRLS CRICKET HUB FOR BALLARAT

The Ballarat Cricket Association is preparing to launch its female only programs for the 2017/18 season.  Three programs will run at Victoria Park at the same time on Friday 27th October at 5pm - Milo In2CRICKET, Milo T20 BLAST and a Girls Only Competition.  These programs will cater for a range of ages and skill levels from 5 through to 14 year olds.

Live Life Get Active is all about getting people active and providing them with a way of eating that is healthy and easy to adapt, in an environment that is fun and motivating.  Sessions are FREE and are held at Mt Pleasant Reserve daily at 9:30am for 45 mins.  Book sessions individually online at www.livelifegetactive.com

RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL HOSTING

The summer sports have began and the festive season just around the corner.  Do you have enough members trained in responsible service of alcohol?  Maybe your club can band together with another in the area to host a course.  Limited availability in October and November on a first-in-first-place basis.  To host an RSA course at your club, contact Rachel or Kim on 5331 6966 or email info@sportscentral.org.au

Thunderstorm Asthma can occur when certain conditions combine. The Victorian Government is providing information so people can understand it and minimise the risk of a severe reaction on high risk days.  For more information on this click here.

Meningococcal disease rates have been increasing over the last few years and the Victorian Government is now providing a FREE vaccine to young people 15 - 19 years in an effort to interrupt the spread of the disease.  The new vaccine covers most strains of this deadly disease and can be easily obtained at school or at a doctor.  For more information on this click here.
