New funding to get regional Victorians active
Sports Central is one of nine regional sport assemblies sharing in $4.5million in new VicHealth funding to support more regional Victorians to get active.  The three-year funding will help make sport and physical activity more accessible to young people, women and introduce more social and modified sporting opportunities.  Sports Central will work to improve participation rates of other community groups, including those in lower socio-economic areas.  For more information visit our website.
Surveys - have your say
To assist in the planning and delivery of the newly announced Regional Sport Program, we a seeking women of all ages and young people aged 12-17 to have your say about sport and recreation participation opportunities in the Central Highlands region.  Take the 5 minute survey and tell us what YOU would like to see in your local community.

Community Activation Grants
The Change Our Game Community Activation Grants fund  one-off community level events that showcase and celebrate the role of women and girls in sport and active recreation.  Grants of up to $5,000 are available to increase the capacity of community organisations to delivery events that promote gender equality.  Applications close Tuesday 4th September.  For more information visit our website.
Volunteer Grants
The Australian Federal Government are providing grants to community organisations to support the efforts of their volunteers.  Applications close on Tuesday 18th September.

Holden Home Ground Advantage
This grant is for sporting clubs to improve facilities, purchase new uniforms or equipment to enable more girls to get involved,  Applications close on Friday 31st August.  For more information visit our website.
Active Club Grants
VicHealth is looking to fund clubs in female participation and participation in social and modified forms of sport with grants of up to $3,000 or $10,000.  Applications close on Friday 31st August.  For more information visit our website.
Ballarat Women's Cricket Club
The Ballarat Women's Cricket Club has been formed to provide an avenue for women in the Ballarat and surrounding areas to play cricket with and against other women.  Females can play senior community cricket in a social and fun atmosphere that is suitable for cricketers of all abilities and experiences.  If you are interested in playing, would like to get involved or want to find out further information, please register your details here.  Registration closes Friday 31st August.
Making Water the Drink of Choice
Ballarat Aquatic & Lifestyle Centre have completed a very successful 'nudge' healthy choices trial to improve the health of their patrons with advice from Sports Central.  Read more about the initiative on our website.
Compassion Walk
