L4R's last meeting in 2019
L4R will meet next Wednesday 27 November at 6pm in the Boardroom on Level 36, State Chambers, 52 Martin Place Sydney (entrance from Phillip St).
Call me on my mobile 0404 532 249 if you experience any access problems getting from the foyer to level 36.
This is our last meeting for the year. Our next meeting will take place in February 2020. If you wish to participate in our discussions about what strategies we should adopt next year in order to progress our refugee reforms, please come along to our meeting and make your contribution.

Annual General Meeting
Our Annual General Meeting took place on the 23 October last followed by a General Meeting.
The following members were elected as Office Bearers.
Co-Convenors (2): Jenny Haines and Shane Prince
Vice President: Mairi Petersen
Junior Vice-Presidents (2): Shannen Potter and Sabrin Farooqui (pro tem until next year's AGM)
Treasurer and Social Media: Jenny Haines
Secretary: Nizza Siano
Assistant Secretary & Webmaster: Cath Crittenden
National Co-ordinating Committee Members (3): Nizza Siano, Jenny Haines, Shane Prince
Returning Officer: Chris Haviland.
L4R Office Bearer Sabrin Farooqui runs "Shakti Australia Ltd" which provides support to migrant and refugee women in Sydney and Melbourne.
Right now, they are raising funds for Shakti NSW. They have applied for funds from government agencies but will most likely not know the outcome of their application before Christmas so are attempting to raise funds prior to Christmas.

For those who won't be attending our December meeting, I wish you well over the festive season and hope that 2020 will bring kinder times to those suffering the most. You can rest assured that Labor for Refugees will continue to strongly advocate for refugees and people seeking asylum and we hope to succeed with your wonderful support.
