September 16th 2014
I would like to thank all parents and students who attended GOAL Day on Friday. Much is known about the importance of the relationship between parents and teachers in doing the best for every child. It is something that is frequently said in schools but unfortunately not always acted upon. However we all know that the success of so many students at our school is down to the collegiate nature of our community and the partnership between parents and teachers on GOAL Day was a wonderful example of this.

Although it is early in the year, GOAL Day enables academic targets to be discussed and there is also the opportunity for a conversation about how each student is settling in to the new school year and the challenges and aspirations which are ahead of them. All this information is useful, but perhaps the most important aspect of the day is the chance for parents and teachers to get to know one another in preparation for the partnership for the year ahead.

Later in the year there are further opportunities to spend time with class teachers and subject teachers to discuss aspects of each student’s progress in each subject in specific detail. However, please do not feel you are limited to only attending school on those days. We have a very open approach here and any parent is welcome on site at any time (though please remember your badge!). If you wish to meet with any member of staff please e-mail in advance to request a suitable time and this will be immediately followed up.

It has been a superb start to the school year with happy students who are already demonstrating some excellent achievements, especially academically, and I have had the pleasure of congratulating many students on some excellent work of an extremely high level. We look forward to a fantastic year ahead and continuation of the partnerships which lead to such great success.
