Grant Round Ends 7/1, New Tech Focus Grant

Drive Oregon is also excited to announce a new grant opportunity! Drive Oregon is now offering "Tech Focus" grants to support specific, highly promising areas of Oregon's electric mobility industry. The first Tech Focus round invites proposals on innovative connected vehicle technologies, such as vehicle infotainment software, mobile apps, automation technologies, wireless charging, and vehicle-to-infrastructure systems. New Energize Oregon Coalition Workgroup
This month, the Energize Oregon Coalition announced the formation of a new workgroup. To promote and successfully establish policy that fosters electric vehicle market growth, the new Outreach and Communications workgroup will focus on collaborating with influential advocates to help educate key stakeholders and decision-makers. The workgroup, chaired by representatives of the Oregon Transportation Research and Education Consortium and the Union of Concerned Scientists, has already had its first meeting - but it is not to late to get involved! Oregon's EV Industry on NPR's Science Friday
Last Friday, listeners to the popular NPR program Science Friday were given an entertaining look at Oregon's leadership in sustainable transportation and electric mobility. Jeff Allen of Drive Oregon and Chris Hoffman of RYNO Motors, a Drive Oregon member firm producing a one-wheeled electric vehicle, spoke to what makes Portland's approach to transportation unique and how other cities might learn from it. Eight States Release Plan to Support ZEV Adoption
An alliance of eight states has released an action plan designed to accelerate the deployment of zero emission vehicles. Together, the states - Oregon, California, Vermont, New York, Rhode Island, Maryland, Connecticut, and Massachusetts - are committing to eleven key strategies to achieve their goal. Some of these strategies include promoting workplace charging, encouraging fleet adoption, establishing vehicle purchase incentives, and strengthening marketing.
