New Energize Oregon Coalition Workgroup
This month, the Energize Oregon Coalition announced the formation of a new workgroup.  To promote and successfully establish policy that fosters electric vehicle market growth, the new Outreach and Communications workgroup will focus on collaborating with influential advocates to help educate key stakeholders and decision-makers.  The workgroup, chaired by representatives of the Oregon Transportation Research and Education Consortium and the Union of Concerned Scientists, has already had its first meeting - but it is not to late to get involved!  If you are interested in joining this workgroup but are not yet a member of the Energize Oregon Coalition, please contact Zach Henkin at Drive Oregon.
Oregon's EV Industry on NPR's Science Friday
Last Friday, listeners to the popular NPR program Science Friday were given an entertaining look at Oregon's leadership in sustainable transportation and electric mobility.  Jeff Allen of Drive Oregon and Chris Hoffman of RYNO Motors, a Drive Oregon member firm producing a one-wheeled electric vehicle, spoke to what makes Portland's approach to transportation unique and how other cities might learn from it.  Head over to the Science Friday blog to listen to the podcast and see photos from NPR's visit to Oregon.
Eight States Release Plan to Support ZEV Adoption

An alliance of eight states has released an action plan designed to accelerate the deployment of zero emission vehicles.  Together, the states - Oregon, California, Vermont, New York, Rhode Island, Maryland, Connecticut, and Massachusetts - are committing to eleven key strategies to achieve their goal.  Some of these strategies include promoting workplace charging, encouraging fleet adoption, establishing vehicle purchase incentives, and strengthening marketing.  The full Multi-State ZEV Action Plan is available for download here.
