Panama’s National Energy Secretariat to Host ECPA Regional Technical Workshop on Energy Concerns for an Expanding Urban Infrastructure
By early 1990 nearly 70 percent of the Latin American and Caribbean populace lived in urban areas. In 2013, the percentage of urban dwellers reached almost 80 percent. Urban population will go from 472 million in 2011, to 560 million in 2025. In this context, it is crucial to implement sustainable strategies for increased electricity generation and a rational use of energy resources.



Purdue University and Government of Colombia Establish Strategic Agreements to Foster Research, Technology and Education
Purdue’s President, Mitchell Daniels, and Dr. Suresh Garimella, Purdue’s Chief Global Affairs Officer and Senior ECPA Fellow, led a delegation on a trip to Colombia to consolidate a collaborative relationship with the government, universities and the private sector of that country. The new partnership will expand scientific research and foster high level capacity building and doctoral training for young Colombians.
