ECPA Initiative Fosters Community Engagement in Sustainable Urban Housing

According to the UN 2010/11 State of the World's Cities Report, Latin America and the Caribbean are the most urbanized regions in the developing world, with more than 79 percent of the population living in cities. Mexico's CONUEE Partakes in the Launch of Energy Efficiency Projects in Chile 

Under the auspices of the ECPA Energy Efficiency Working Group, a delegation of Mexico’s CONUEE visited Chile to learn about the Chilean Energy Efficiency Agency 2014 Program and to prepare a prospective technical visit in mid-2014. OAS Contributes to Urban Equality in the Americas

Planet Earth is home to almost seven billion people of whom two thirds live in cities and urban areas. This figure would not say much on its own if it were not for the fact that one in four people lives in informal settlements. Colombia to Implement Closed Looped Cycle Production

In 2013, the OAS/DSD worked with the Government of Ecuador to implement the Closed Looped Cycle Production in the Americas (CLCPA), aimed at deploying the Cradle-to-Cradle (C2C) certification process in the food industry. The pilot project concluded successfully, and Batery Alimentos S.A. became the first company in Latin America to be awarded the C2C certification for one of its packaging products. In 2014, the DSD launched the second phase of the CLCPA initiative. Read more.
