February 2014 Newsletter
Off to a great year!
Thank you to those who attended the chili supper in January. It was a strong turnout and we were able to meet a lot of new people. We appreciate that people chose to volunteer their time to the various events and activities the TSCA will be hosting this year. We will be reaching out to you shortly about information meetings that are planned in the coming weeks.
We still have some areas of need including:
*website creation and maintenance
*social media manager
*merchandise organizer (we have a growing amount of stuff!)
Please spread the word to your friends and neighbors by sharing this newsletter with them. Our mission is to foster the spirit of community for all of our local residents. You can go to our website at www.theTSCA.org to find out more.
Aside from the events in 2014, we are busy assessing several areas of support this year. We continuously review the needs of the current town park and future open spaces for potential needs. A new area of focus this year is the caboose next to Town Hall. This is an important symbol of the history of the town and we feel there is opportunity for maintenance and utilization.
Thompson's Station has a significant personnel change that will be happening shortly. Greg Langeliers will be retiring as Town Administrator this Spring and will be replaced by Joseph Consentini. You can find out more about Greg in the below video from Williamson Source and Joseph was recently interviewed by our local Advertiser News.
As an aside, if you are like me and not sure what a Town Administrator does, then I encourage you to attend the BOMA (Board of Mayor and Alderman) meetings. You can find the schedule here: http://www.thompsons-station.com/NewsEvents/tabid/59/Default.aspx
Warm wishes on this cold day!
