I don't think I will nail this section as well as Molly Jordan, but then again I'm not a super smarty MJ-school student. For those of you who didn't know, Molly will be graduating this weekend and has been our student assistant in MJ Career Services this academic year. Among MANY things, Molly oversaw the MJ Careers Digest. She also is the Ariana Grande fan and much better as a poet and with emojis.

Here is my stab at some personality, as Molly added so much this past year. Some of you might know I really like the Grateful Dead. Here's one of my favorite songs:

Online News Association Student Innovation Lab
We’re excited to announce the volunteer mentors who will guide this year’s Student Newsroom and Innovation Lab. Now in its tenth year, the Student Newsroom is an opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to gain hands-on experience during the three-day Online News Association Conference and Online Journalism Awards Ceremony. These volunteer mentors will guide students as they produce coverage of the conference, helping them build digital storytelling skills and experiment with multimedia techniques.

Twenty students will be selected to join these mentors in the ONA19 Student Newsroom and Innovation Lab. The deadline for students to apply is May 23, 2019, 11:59 p.m. EDT. Selected students receive complimentary badges, as well as travel and lodging support. Learn more about the program and application.

Summit Scholarship - The Plank Center for Public Relations
After a very successful first Summit in Oct. 2018, the Plank Center’s second Summit on Diversity & Inclusion in Public Relations will be held Nov. 8, 2019, in Chicago in conjunction with the Center’s Milestones in Mentoring Gala. The Summit will showcase cutting-edge research, highlight organizations which are moving the D&I needle and feature individuals who have overcome D&I challenges. Attendees will gain actionable insights to implement within their own organizations.

This Summit offers a unique opportunity for diverse public relations students to gain professional insights and to see, hear from and network with other students and successful professionals from underrepresented groups.

Up to 10 students from underrepresented groups will receive scholarships to attend the Plank Center’s Summit and Milestones in Mentoring Gala. Applicants may be from any underrepresented group. Each scholarship will include air travel to and from Chicago, one night’s stay (Nov. 7) at the Union League Club, one ticket to the Gala and one ticket to The Plank Summit, totaling an estimated $1,500.

Communications and Media Relations Intern - Durham County Sheriff's Office/Durham
The Durham County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) seeks interns to work in the agency’s Communications and Media Relations Department. The Communications Intern will report to the Communications and Public Relations Manager and Senior Public Information Specialist to complete a semester-long project creating a new homepage for the DCSO website while assisting colleagues develop content, social media posts and enhance internal communications. The intern will produce work in some of the following areas, depending on his or her skill sets: website design, writing, social media, videography, digital photography & podcasting.  
The selected intern does not need to have experience or skills in all of these areas.
Based on the selected intern’s skill set, duties may include assisting with communications plans and strategies, writing stories for, the agency’s newsletters, producing and curating content for official social media accounts, creating videos, taking photos and helping with production of a podcast. Videography Intern - Independent Insurance Agents of NC/Cary, NC

Fall Carolina Alumni Review Advertising Sales Intern - UNC GAA / Chapel Hill, NC
The UNC General Alumni Association’s award-winning magazine, the Carolina Alumni Review, seeks an advertising sales intern for fall semester. This intern will assist with maintaining current accounts, developing new accounts and assisting with related administrative tasks.

Typical responsibilities include advertising sales for the Carolina Alumni Review alumni magazine, Carolina Classifieds and Dining Around Town sections, preproduction art proofing, postproduction follow up, distribution of complimentary magazines, billing and tear sheets. Assistance with ad design and production is another component of this position.

The advertising intern will exhibit strong communication and editing skills and excellent interpersonal and organizational abilities. Being detail-oriented is key. Eye for good design and knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.

This position will report directly to the Director of Outreach and Training (DOT). Specific activities include enhancing the public health impact of the Center by developing and maintaining websites; through social media outlets such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter; issuing press releases and media advisories; creating and distributing electronic newsletters; facilitating, organizing, planning, and assisting with outreach events, conferences, seminars, summits, visiting speaker and other promotional opportunities; editing, writing and designing center-wide written and graphic materials, including the annual report, fact sheets, infographics, and similar documents. In addition, assist in designing, organizing, and facilitating academic seminars and conferences on injury topics and collaborate on the design and delivery of workshops and trainings for community practitioners.
