Good afternoon,

Students, are you interested in being mentored by a UNC MJ alum? If so, act fast! We only have 8 spots left in the MJAA Mentor Program.

The goal of this program is to support the educational and professional growth of student participants — and for alumni professionals to play a key role in the development of UNC’s next generation of media and journalism industry leaders. The program is facilitated by the MJ-school and the Media and Journalism Alumni Association (MJAA) Board.

This yearlong program includes a kickoff event in September, four mentor meetings throughout the school year and a closing event in April. Mentee and mentor meetings will vary on topic and will be based on the professional and career goals of the mentee.

Available spots are limited! Click this link to access the application by Friday, July 26. If you have any questions, please reach out to Jenn Sipe ( or Robin Jackson (

*If you have already applied, no further action is required.
