With the recent closure of Washington Square Park, open space in our neighborhood is at a premium. That's why I'm so happy to share that we're starting a new program called Sundays in the PARKing Lot. The weekly series will feature different events or classes at noon each Sunday in an attempt to restore some of the space and reasons to bump into your neighbor that the park closure leaves us without.

We just finished a great first Sunday complete with a free Yoga class thanks to Glow Yoga and a pop-up dog park with lots of friendly pups. Check our schedule and stop by on a Sunday coming up!

Piazza Pellegrini has once again stepped up to be our partner in the effort, just as they are in the North Beach Farmers Market. Be sure to thank them the next time you stop by the restaurant or patio for all they do for our neighborhood!

Summer Social & Dining Club was a Hit!

We enjoyed an amazing meal at Noren Izakaya as part of our North Beach Neighbors Dining Club. We were treated to a spectacular meal at one of our neighborhood's newest restaurants.

Following dinner, we went to Beach Blanket Babylon for their legendary performance (likely the last for most of us!).

Thanks to everyone who joined us and to Peter for organizing. We had 18 members for dinner, and 27 for the show!

Continuing to Fight for Our Small Businesses
Our efforts to support the small business community and advocate for changes to let it thrive reached a new urgency as we learned the vacancy rate is now at 21% in North Beach.

Our Small Business Roadmap continued to gain support from nearby neighborhood associations and small businesses. And, we spoke with the media to help raise the needs of our neighborhood and were featured in the following pieces...
An Evening of Learning about Navigation Centers & Homelessness

Thank you to all who joined us for an evening of learning about the Navigation Center model and Homelessness in San Francisco.

We were proud to partner with San Francisco Eastern Neighborhoods Democratic Club to help educate our community on this important topic. A special thanks to Italian Community Services for lending us space in their beautiful building for the program.

Supporting a New Bike Share Station
In June, we wrote a letter to city officials expressing our support for a proposed bike share station at Union & Powell, next to Marini Plaza. You can read the full letter here
