Every year IN:CH architects and planners in Bangalore conducts the IN:CH Studio in India, a 16 week program which brings in students of architecture from different nationalities to work with local marginalized communities. This year, the theme was 'Indian Urban Subcultures' wherein the students travelled to Kerala, Ahmedabad, Mumbai and Bangalore to created and implement several sustainable architecture projects. Here's a sneak peek at their journey and some impressions of the event.

A rock-solid inititiative to preserve Ladakhi rock art

Martin Vernier, one of the three founding members of TEDAHL, (Team for the Exploration and Documentation of the Archaeology and History of Ladakh - a non-profit group registered in Switzerland) would be conducting the yearly visit to Ladakh for survey-trekking, in June, and to conduct a workshop to sensitise the local population on preserving the Ladakhi material culture.

What can Science & Technology do for Sustainable Development?
 
swissnex India participated at a workshop focusing on Perspectives of Science & Technology in Developing & Emerging Countries. 36 participants from 22 states in Africa, Asia and Latin-America spoke about the role and challenges of S & T diplomacy within their country and Governments. Balz Strasser, CEO of swissnex India presented the Swiss perspective on the topic.
