70kft

Southern Hothpitality

Welcome to k•f•t – our monthly glimpse into to the culture, achievements and creative passions that fuel our agency.

For the staff, Hoth now means more than just being the sixth remote planet of a fictional universe. Since the average temperature in our new space across the hall is usually somewhere between “refreshingly nippy” and “the snow maze scene in The Shining,” frosty conditions quickly became a central theme.

“Lady Kevyn” Haynes scored dinner for two at Ellen’s Southern Kitchen for coming up with the best name for the low-temp hot spot… “Hoth.” (Congrats, and great Jabba!) Honorable mentions include: The FroZone Lair, Dirty South, 70TBD, Casa Awesome, Deepest Ellum, Haut Pocket and Thunderdome.

We hope you enjoy this month’s peek behind the curtain with our talented family. As always, we’ve had a taun-taun of fun (eh? get it?) bringing it to you. Thanks, and have a great week!

AWARDS

Most Tiffanitely

For our most recent Ace award, choosey staffers chose Tiff. Tiffany Bryant joined 70kft as office manager in November and since then, has delivered some of the most significant improvements in the agency’s history. In addition to acting as office mom and running day-to-day operations, she has created agency processes from scratch, single-handedly plans and coordinates all agency events and travel, and has driven MBE/SBE corporate registrations for the company.

To show our deep gratitude, the agency hired a personal assistant to profoundly lighten her workload for a day. Congrats, Tiffany – you are priceless.

TALENT

Intern-al Revue

For students pursuing careers in the “agency arts,” finding the right internship can be tricky. 70kft recently took an exciting step by hiring six bright, dynamic student interns to work with our specialized teams for an immersive, hands-on experience in their chosen fields. We’re proud to work alongside these talented, up-and-coming leaders.

  1. Bruce Blay – Web Development, UTA
  2. Mallory Close – Design, University of North Texas
  3. Becky Lin – Design, University of North Texas
  4. Jessica Petrocchi – Digital Marketing, Elon University
  5. Veronica Wu – Research, University Texas at Dallas
  6. Cindy Yu – Web Development, Stanford University

Blog Extra: Audrey explains 70kft’s approach to our paid internship program and how the agency and young talent both benefit from the process.

DO GOOD

Each month, a team member chooses a nonprofit that takes exceptional care supporting important causes. This month’s pick comes from Renee Nelson. She recently became familiar with DFW Pug Rescue Club earlier this year when she adopted Tito.

DFWPRC rescues, cares for and places unwanted, mistreated or homeless pugs regardless of age and medical condition. The organization is largest of its kind in the United States and has already found adoptive homes in 28 states, British Columbia, Canada, Hawaii, Germany and Japan.
