Engage Every Family: A Closer Look

Friday, July 8 | 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m.

This four-workshop series will focus on using the “Five Simple Principles” framework to engage every family. Workshops will detail the importance of policy, how family engagement impacts student achievement and how COVID-19 has resulted in the changing dynamics of families and school-family relationships.

Keynote Session
Why Family Engagement Matters: Understanding the 5 Simple Principles

Saturday, July 9

Every school strives to engage families in the academic lives of their children, but results vary widely. Through storytelling, humor and straight talk, author and international family engagement practitioner Steve Constantino will introduce you to the five principles of effective family engagement. He will leave you both smiling and thinking, but most importantly, motivated to establish practices that engage every family.

If you need to book hotel rooms and/or would like to be placed on the Riverhouse wait list, or if you need to cancel your hotel reservation, contact Sarah Herb at or 503-588-2800. Please do not call the hotel directly to cancel a reservation, or we will lose the contracted rooms.
