Sr High Connect

Who: You and your friends in grades 9-12.

What: Couture – Fashion Plates – Fashionista: Part II. You don’t have to get all fancied up to come to Senior High Connect – you’ll be the Cat’s Pajamas! Get your lunch (or breakfast?) together and join us. Why do we wear what we wear? What's that say about us?

When: This Sunday, Mar 14, 12:15-1:30 pm

Why: Being together is good. Knowing how Jesus transforms lives is good. Being how Jesus transforms lives is good.

Youth Mission Trip 2021 is a GO.

July 10-17, 2021

There are many details to work out, but here's what we know:
It will be in Cleveland.
COTS will be HQ.
We will sleep in our homes.

The COTS Youth Mission Trip is about loving God and loving our neighbor - putting our faith into action - and is for youth entering grades 8 and up, including high school grads and adult leaders.

The experience will be different than other years, and in many ways it will be the same. There's a lot of potential to do new, great things that aren't possible in other years.
One thing is certain - God will move in us and through us!

The 21-Day Challenge

It's not too late to join!

Who: You and your friends in grades 9-12, parents, sibs, neighbors.

What: From the YWCA: "The 21-Day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge is designed to create dedicated time and space to build more effective social justice habits, particularly those dealing with issues of race, power, privilege, and leadership. Our challenge starts on Monday, March 1st and continues (Monday –Friday) through March 29th.

Each day of the challenge you will be presented with activities such as reading an article, listening to a podcast, reflecting on personal experience and more. Participation in an activity like this helps us to discover how racial injustice and social injustice impact our community, to connect with one another, and to identify ways to dismantle racism and other forms of discrimination."

When: Monday, Mar 1 - Monday, Mar 29 (weekdays)

Why: This is a fantastic, flexible way to grow our awareness and be better equipped to Love Our Neighbor by knowing about the experiences of others.

COTS Kids & Youth Registration & Med Info 2020-2021

A completed COTS Kids & Youth Registration & Medical Info form is required for each youth and is valid for the school year. Please help us by having friends' parents complete the form.

What is COTS Sr Youth?

COTS Sr Youth is our ministry for youth in grades 9-12. We're at Church of the Saviour United Methodist and meet most weeks for youth group or to serve others. Learn about all the ways to get involved at cotsumc.org/grow/#youth.

Something to Think About...

What's the last thing you did that you really had to work for? An important game? A concert or recital? Maybe a project at school? What did you do to get ready for all the practices and rehearsals and group meetings and personal training and work? Did you have to make some decisions about how you spent your time and energy?

A voice is crying out:
“Clear the Lord’s way in the desert!
    Make a level highway in the wilderness for our God!
Every valley will be raised up,
    and every mountain and hill will be flattened.
    Uneven ground will become level,
    and rough terrain a valley plain.
The Lord’s glory will appear,
    and all humanity will see it together;
    the Lord’s mouth has commanded it.”

Lent is 40 days, plus Sundays. It's not forever. But it's not a moment, either. What if it's long enough to slow down and look at our lives - to think about what we spend our time and money and energy on? Take a minute to talk with God about the hills and valleys that are slowing down your ability to fully experience the full, rich life we can have through Jesus. Which are out of your control? Which ones could you level or raise up? Consider getting out a shovel and leveling the highway between you and the resurrected Jesus.
