Sell Greens for Mission Trip!

This is a great opportunity!
1) We meet the decorating needs of our congregation
AND 2) We raise money for the mission trip!
The last time we did this, each youth selling greens for each 30 minute shift raised $53 towards their mission trip fundraising requirement. (That's $106/hour!!!)  Sign up now!  All you have to do is be friendly at a table in the church parlor. We also need a few to package and sort after they arrive (hot chocolate and theme music provided!). First come, first served.  Reserve your spot by texting or emailing Curt. 216-903-9610, ccampbell@cotsumc.org.

Trunk-or-Treat!

Get dressed up.
Decorate your trunk.
Give kids candy.
AND get service hours!
Hook a friend up with a fun opportunity!

Are you coming? Please let us know here!

What:  Trunk-or-Treat! Park your car in the COTS north parking lot, pop open the trunk and decorate it like crazy (think fun, not scary - it's for kids). Put on your own great costume and pass out candy to the kids in their great costumes! There's EVEN going to be a special guest at the end!    When: Sunday, Oct 23, 3:30 - 5:30p    Who:  EVERYONE at Church of the Saviour. COTS youth and adults host, and kids from COTS and the neighborhood stop by to get some goodies!    Why:  Kids love candy. Kids love to show off their costumes. We love to make kids happy with candy joy. We love to make kids feel great about their cool costumes. It's a home run! And it's a simple and FUN way to love the families in our community. We're providing a safe, fun, and interactive place for families to obtain flavored sugar. And you can even log some service hours for school.    How:  Come at 3:30p to set up your trunk and get your candy ready! Decorate as much or little as you like. The interweb is full of fun and easy ideas if you're looking for inspiration. The kids will be there at 4pm.

Do you like to help people?

Does the idea of someone engaging with God sound like a good thing to you? If so, you should consider joining the Acolyte Team for the people of our 11am Worship Service!

Acolytes help make worship services great. They carry in the Big Bible and cross, carry in and light the altar candles, assist with collecting the offering, and help serve Communion. Not all at once!  :)  We are looking for acolytes on Communion Sundays -
if you're interested, please click here!

Sunday is the deadline for ordering these cool shirts!

For the month of October, COTS is focused on Small Groups (Grouptober) and this message from Micah 6:8 to BE Just, Kind, and Humble.
NOTE: Sunday morning small groups will be meeting at 9:30 during October! This is our opportunity to focus on being Christlike to our neighbors - to extend justice, kindness, and humility to all that we come in contact with. It's an election season campaign with a different message!

Thursday Nights Together

Decorate the CHURCH BUS for Trunk-or-Treat!

After dinner we are going to trick the bus out as a mini fun-house for Sunday, Oct 23, Trunk-or-Treat.

Thursday Nights Together is a meal and hang out followed by small groups and music groups. There are opportunities for the entire family - like EVERYONE. We will have an open meal (meaning come any time) for $3/person from 5:30-6:30. Then from 6:30-7:30 there will be music groups for kids, youth, and adults, small groups for kids, youth, and adults, and nursery care.

What (Grades 6-8):  9:30-10:30a in Room 204 (over the COTS Café). Asking questions about science and faith is a GOOD thing! What if learning more about each of them teaches us more about the other?

What (Grades 9-12):  9:30-10:30a in Sr Youth Room 207 (over the parlor). Asking questions DOESN'T have to keep you from growing in your faith. What if being curious can actually GROW our faith?

What (Explorers):  12:15-5:00p in Sr Youth Room 207. Opening mini-retreat! Parents join us from 12:15-2:00pm. Lunch is provided. We're kicking this thing off right with food and bringing everyone together.

When:   Sunday, Oct 16, times as indicated.      Why:   So we can grow in our faith to act on our faith.    How:   Complete the COTS Kids & Youth Registration & Med Info form for this school year.
