Wednesday Bible Study

2:30-3:30 pm Wednesdays - Last one for this round
For High School Youth

We're in a season of uncertainty.  Having faith doesn't mean everything is all of a sudden certain, but it does mean that we can be at peace in the midst of it.  Where does that faith come from?  One way to grow our faith it is talk about it with others who are seeking to grow it.  God moves in that setting every time.

For our final week of this round, we'll look at Abraham and this bizarre story where God commands him to sacrifice is son. Sound like love?

Something to Think About...

How did you feel when you woke up this morning (or this afternoon)?  Not physically - but your mood.  How was your outlook for the day?  Did it take a turn after you looked at the work you had to do?  Did it take another turn when you saw the sunshine beckoning?  How about when you get your work finished and were "free to go"?

Lord, hear my prayer!
    Let my cry reach you!
Don’t hide your face from me
    in my time of trouble!
Listen to me!
Answer me quickly as I cry out!

---Psalm 102:1-2 (CEB)

Many think that Jesus followers are supposed to always be happy, or exuding joy.  Especially these days, when many of our lives have been upturned and many of the things we've really been looking forward to are cancelled, we are feeling down.  We're sad, disappointed, angry.  We are lamenting.  And here's the thing - THAT'S OKAY.  We feel what we feel, God knows it, and it's okay to say it.

Take a minute to talk with God about the down stuff.  Yes, God already knows, and yes, it's still good to name it.  Relationships are built are communication.  So get it out there.  Maybe you'll feel better, maybe you won't - but I do think it's a place for healing to start.
